INDEPENDANCE DAY PARADE UPDATE

Archbishop Demetrios of America has accepted the Parade Committees invitation to be Grand Marshall. He will attend the Heritage Award Dinner/Celebration Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Royalty House and offer Sunday's Doxology and oversee our Parade festivities, on March 29, 2009.
This is truly an honor for Detroit area Greek Americans and we look forward to an overwhelming attendance at this years parade events. More information on detroit.greekparades.com.
Nominate volunteers to receive coveted American Heritage Award, now in its second year.
The Hellenic Heritage Award is given in recognition of the diligent and successful endeavors in promoting the values of Greek civilization, Orthodox Faith, Hellenic Culture and heritage over many years in our region. Hellenic Heritage Award recipients will be recognized at an award banquet on March 28, 2009.In addition, recipients will accompany the Grand Marshal as Honorary Marshals at this year’s Detroit Greek Independence parade. George Reganis and his committe should be commended for their dedication and committment to this event year after year. BRAVO!!!!
I absolutely agree. This committee has been working faithfully for years and should be acknowledged. The Independance Day Parade Celebration is the premiere event for the Greek American Community of Detroit.
