KRISTINA PENZ RECEIVES KYKLOS HELLENIC SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP THROUGH AHEPA DISTRICT 10 EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
ST. CLAIR SHORES, MIJUNE 4, 2010: KYKLOS Hellenic Society has partnered with AHEPA District 10 Educational Foundation to award a scholarship for scholastic excellence. This year, KYKLOS is proud to present Kristina Penz of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, with a $1,000 Scholarship. Kristina will attend Oakland University in the fall, majoring in Interior Architecture.
KYKLOS Director John Peppes states, “We are proud to help give the youth of our community the opportunity to advance through higher education.”
The Mission of KYKLOS Hellenic Society is to promote, educate, and preserve our Greek heritage through music, song, and dance.
“Partnering with KYKLOS Hellenic Society was a natural fit,” shared Educational Foundation Chair, Elena Kerasiotis. “The AHEPA Family has supported KYKLOS since
their inception in 2005, and we were honored to be asked to distribute this high school scholarship on their behalf.”The AHEPA District #10 Educational Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, and has been awarding scholarships for 38 years. This year the Foundation plans to distribute a total of 24 awards totaling $25,000. Thanks to donors such as KYKLOS Hellenic Society and many other generous donor contributions and endowments, the Foundation is able to advance the educational endeavors of countless Greek American Youth throughout the State of Michigan. The Mission of the AHEPA Family is to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, Family and Individual Excellence.
The scholarship awards will be presented at the AHEPA District Convention on Saturday evening, June 5, 2010 at the Assumption Cultural Center, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores, MI, 48080.
SAVE THE DATE! KYKLOS Hellenic Society will present its 5th Anniversary Performance on January 5, 2011 at Sts. Constantine and Helen in Westland, MI.
