Ellena Gatzaros' New Business Venture - The Bean Bar

Ellena Gatzaros, can't get the restaurant business out of her system, so she is now the new owner of downtown Detroit's Bean Bar. Ellena once lived above a coffee shop in Rome, the aroma must have made an impression, so she will now offer coffee, pastries, espresso drinks, teas and smoothies at the shop near Cobo Center, in the Marquette Building. Financee Christos Moisides, a Cinematographer, will assist Ellena in the new venture.

Ellena is excited about her new business venture and is pleased to be a part of Detroit's Renaissance. Gatzaros grew up in the family business, watching her mom select furnishings and her dad choose the menu for Fishbones. Her father, whom she considers the world's best business mentor, owns the Marquette Building and helped capitalize her dream. Gatzaros, an attorney, will continue to do legal work for the 400 Monroe Group along with beanery tasks. She plans to cater continental breakfasts to neighboring offices.

Downtown workers are glad to have their java shop once again occupied. The Hours for the Bean Bar are from 6:30 a.m. to 4p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends for special events. (313) 963-2326
