January 11, 2007 Contact: Center for
Family Care
The Center for Family Care announces the launch of its improved website. The recently formed ministry develops programs and provides resources aimed at bringing Orthodox Christianity into the everyday life of families. Through education, The Center strives to create a variety of learning tools to instill an Orthodox Christian ethos inside of the home while inspiring a greater participation in the life of the Church. The formation of the website will support the mission by making resources more available to the faithful. The goal of the site
is to be a clearinghouse of information on raising the family in the Orthodox
Church. The website will include resources created by The Center such
as the Table Top Prayer Guide, Family Worship Folio, and The Parish Family
Night curriculum. In addition, the website has a host of articles, recommended
books, and other information that will assist families to grow in the
faith. Each month, new information will be added to the site to offer
more resources for families. "We are currently trying to determine
other family issues that need to be addressed as we want this site to
be pertinent to the contemporary Orthodox family. We look forward to getting
input from families to help us further develop this site," stated
The Center's Resource Coordinator, Melissa Tsongranis. The website can
be accessed at www.familyaschurch.org. For more information, contact the
Center for Family Care at 845-424-8175 or by email at familycare@goarch.org.
