District #13 Scholarship Recipients

The 13th District AHEPA Scholarship Foundation, Chicago, Illinois, presented 21 scholarships totaling $24,000 to deserving young high school seniors and college students to continue their studies at the university level and for advanced degrees. President of the Foundation, Steve Manta, PSP, PDG, encouraged the students to concentrate on their studies, graduate, and become active in the AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope to perpetuate our organization; the AHEPA Family. The featured speaker was The Honorable Peggy Chiampas, Associate Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois. Her message was crystal clear to all of the recipients: study, work hard, and remember your Greek heritage. With the assistance of many members of the local Daughters of Penelope, the evening was successful.
