Making
Strides for Breast Cancer Research
by Contributing
Writer Erasmia Novotny
On October 14th,
TEAM
MALISTA walked Making Strides for a Cure for Breast Cancer. Nine walkers
forming TEAM MALISTA set out on this frigid but beautiful Autumn morning
and joined thousands of walkers in Belle Isle Park for the 9th annual
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event sponsored by the American Cancer
Society. In less than 2 weeks, TEAM MALISTA raised close to $2,500.00
from friends, family and supporters from across the country. Together
we made a difference for our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, daughters,
and friends.
Because of your enthusiasm
and commitment to fighting this disease, we were able to bring 8,500 walkers
to Belle Isle Park, honor 450 breast cancer survivors in our community
and raise $725,000 for life-saving breast cancer research, education and
local patient services.
We hope that next year TEAM
MALISTA will brake this year's record for walkers and contributions
and make even more strides against Breast Cancer.
